MTH 052 - Math for Introductory Physical Science
Prerequisite: MTH 020 or equivalent content with a grade of "C-"or better or pass a placement test through the Testing Office. Pre-requisite grades or test scores must have been completed within the past four terms. If you have taken a higher level math course than this and passed the course with a "C-" or better, you may not use this course for your degree/certificate requirements. This is a pre-algebra level course in professional-technical mathematics used in chemistry, dosage computation, and other science-related courses. Topics include unit conversions, metrics, scientific notation, significant figures, rates, proportions, percent applications, graphs, algebra of units, and logarithms for pH. May be offered through Distance Learning. Scientific Calculator is required. Please refer to the Calculator Recommendation Chart on www.lanecc.edu/math.
