This course provides a thorough and in-depth knowledge of basic horse care and management. This course will cover choosing and purchasing a horse, grooming, hoof care, handling/training, appropriate tack use, immunization, worming, boarding, and stall care. Come learn how to strengthen your relationship with your horse or your future horse. By the end of this course you will be caring for your horse with confidence. Class will end with a field trip to Mt. Pisgah Stables - Bateman

Vet assistants help Veterinarians and Vet Techs care for animals. This course covers the basics of pet grooming, restraint, sanitation, simple laboratory tests, scheduling, recordkeeping, disaster and holistic medicine and customer service. This class will include a field trip to Greenhill. Upon successful completion of this training course, you are eligible for an on-the-job learning experience (internship) through Cooperative Education (Co-op). Co-op courses are regular credit courses that cost the same as other credit courses and are eligible for financial aid. You may be required to pass a background check, drug screen and have current immunizations to be eligible.
