MTH 111 - College Algebra |
Prerequisite: Within the past for terms completed MTH 095 or equivalent course with a grade of "C-" or better or passed a placement test through the Testing Office. MTH 097 is strongly recommended. College Algebra is the study of basic functions and their applications. This includes polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions and their inverses. Other topics include an introduction to sequences and non-linear systems of equations. In accordance with national recommendations, this course emphasizes skill building, problem solving, modeling, reasoning, communication, connections with other disciplines, and the appropriate use of technology. Graphing Calculator is required. Please refer to the Calculator Recommendation Chart on www.lanecc.edu/math. However, students will be held accountable for many skills without a calculator.
