This course provides a comprehensive overview of community health with a focus on social determinants of health (SDOH) using the World Health Organization (WHO) SDOH conceptual framework. Students will examine how social, economic, and environmental factors influence health outcomes and contribute to health disparities. By focusing on SDOH, students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to advocate for health equity and develop effective interventions to improve the health and well-being of diverse populations. Assessments in the form of case studies, pre and post tests, and forum discussions will support student learning as they engage deeply with the material and explore real-world applications of course concepts.
