CNC 111 - Machining: Introduction to CNC Operator |
Students will be introduced to the 2-axis CNC lathe and the 3-axis CNC mill. They will learn how to set up work offsets, tool height offsets, tool holders, and work holding. They will learn to operate the CNC machine and run pre-programmed parts. They will set up and run real-world parts and gain experience as a CNC operator. This course will be an introduction to the study of metrology. Students will get hands on experience using metrology hand tools such as Calipers, Micrometers, and other basic metrology tools. Students will learn to read prints and take part measurements based on those prints. Lab included.
