This is a hands-on course that provides students with tools and techniques to work as recording engineers in a recording environment. The instructor will work with students in a recording studio, using recording equipment. Topics include: sound and hearing, studio acoustics, microphone choice and positioning, mixing board, recording technology, tracking, audio editing, signal processing, monitoring, mixing, mastering, work flow, and professionalism. Recommended prerequisite: MUS 101 or higher music theory class/skill
