HIM 280 - Co-op Ed: Health Information Management |
Prerequisites: COOP 206 with a grade of "C" or better; admission to the Health Information Management (HIM) program; and instructor approval. HIM Co-op is a supervised Professional Practice Experience (PPE) in the health information department of a hospital, and/or of a non-acute care facility, designed to provide varied work opportunities in Health Information Technology and related fields, such as Records Management, Medical Billing and Coding, and/or Data Management. Co-operative Education is designed to enable students to obtain hands-on work experience in theoretical and application-based procedures previously studied in the academic setting.
