Prerequisites: HIM120, HIM183, HIM101, HIT105, HIM222, and HIM114 with minimum grade of C, or instructors consent. This course examines the foundations of health information technology used in the collection and management of clinical information. Topics covered: the function, content, and structure of the health record. Data sets and healthcare information requirements and standards will also be covered. Offered online.
