GIS 151 - Digital Earth |
Prerequisite: MTH 060 or above. CIS 101 is strongly recommended. Digital Earth is an introduction to geospatial concepts and includes both lectures and hands-on computer applications. Students will use several geospatial technologies as they learn fundamental concepts of data analysis, data capture, and mapping. Students will learn how technologies such as GPS, Google Earth, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS desktop can used to solve real-world problems and aid critical decision making. This course may be offered online. Students who take this class online must have a computer with a windows operation systems (PC or a MAC with a windows boot option) OR be able to attend the GIS open lab hours.
