| MTH 212 - Fundamentals of Elementary Mathematics 2 |

Prerequisite: MTH 211 with a grade of "C-" or better completed within the past four terms. Surveys mathematical topics for those interested in the presentation of mathematics at the K-9 levels. A variety of manipulative and heuristic problem solving strategies are used. Emphasis is on problem solving, rational numbers (as fractions and decimals), irrational and real numbers, proportional reasoning, percent, using elementary algebra (use of variables, equation solving, relations and functions), and an
