MTH 025C - Basic Mathematics Applications: Culinary |
Prerequisite: Within the past four terms completed MTH 020 or
equivalent course with a grade of "C-" or better or pass a placement
test through the Testing Office. Basic skills in fractions, decimals,
percents and ratios will be assumed. MTH 025C is a course in the
application of basic mathematics to everyday situations in culinary
practice. Topics include applications involving budget, food preparation,
measurement systems, yield percents, recipe conversions, nutritional
labels, payroll, and discounts. The course will focus on group work, skill
maintenance, investigations. Scientific Calculator is required.
