Prerequisite: GIS 245
GIS 2 is the third in a series of Geographic Information Science and Technology courses. The course will focus on advanced skills and techniques used to create, analyze, and display spatial data in a geographic information system. The following skills and techniques will be emphasized: data and project management, digitizing, editing, address matching, georeferencing, overlay analysis, spatial analysis, problem solving (related to spatial concepts and software), and visual design. Access to a current computer outside of class (new within last 3 years) is strongly recommended. Students who do not have access to a computer may be at a disadvantage.
