Prerequisites: CS 161J (formerly CS 161) or CIS 102 or CS 160 or MTH 095 or higher or instructor consent.
This course is an introduction to the principles of software design, development and testing. It includes basic syntax and semantics of a higher-level language, problem solving, algorithm and program design, data types, and program control structures. Development tools and object-oriented programming concepts are introduced. Programming assignments will involve developing simple games. Note: CS 161C+ was formerly numbered CS 133G. A student who has taken this class under the previous number may not take it again under this new number and receive duplicate credit.
