Prerequisites: GIS 151 or GEOG 151, or consent of the instructor.
Maps and Spatial Information is the second in the series of Geographic Information Science and Technology courses. The course will build on the foundations of geospatial technology introduced in GIS/GEOG 180. Students will use ArcInfo software to explore cartographic principles, projections, data capture, data structures, and data analysis. Access to a current computer outside of class (new within last 3 years) is strongly recommended. Students who do not have access to a computer may be at a disadvantage.
