Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Describe the differences between community, public, and population health 2. Explore social determinants of health using the WHO SDOH conceptual framework 3. Examine concepts and theories underlying the nature and impact of SDOH on population health 4. Analyze the impact of dominant political and sociocultural philosophies on health of local and global communities 5. Identify the effects of discrimination and oppression on socioeconomic status (SES) and health 6.
