PH 203 - General Physics
Associated Term: Spring 2026
Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Apply forces, energy, and fields to problems involving electrostatics
2. Apply Kirchoff’s Laws and related concepts to circuit analysis
3. Apply Ampere’s, Lorentz, Faraday’s Laws along with related concepts to problems involving magnetism
4. Interpret Einstein’s postulates, time dilation, and length contraction to relativistic situations, particularly using Spacetime diagrams
5. Design and analyze modeling, testing, and application type experiments
6. Solve physical problems using physics principles along with algebra/trigonometry, extreme case analysis, proportional reasoning, and multiple representations
