G 202 - Earth's Surface Systems
Associated Term: Winter 2026
Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Classify surface landforms and geologic processes, applying terminology
2. Analyze and evaluate surface processes from weathering through deposition in context of plate tectonics using existing models
3. Apply quantitative methods of evaluating Earth surface processes
4. Evaluate anthropogenic issues such as climate change and geologic hazards, citing peer-reviewed science
5. Create hypotheses regarding surface processes–such as mass wasting, fluvial or glacial–and initial observations of landscapes in context of plate tectonics
