Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Discuss the holistic discipline of geography and the role of geographers in the workplace 2. Differentiate between different geospatial technologies and their respective applications 3. Display spatial information, both qualitative and quantitative, through the creation of maps 4. Describe the basic principles of web mapping and mobile product design for geographic applications 5. Discuss the characteristics and purposes of geographic representations such as maps, globes, geospatial imagery 6. Analyze a variety of contemporary issues in terms of earth’s physical and human systems 7.
