Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Analyze social phenomena to understand human behavior and illustrate concepts such as culture regions, cultural diffusion, and the influence of nature on people 2. Illustrate the diversity of cultures across the world during discussions and project-focused research applied to languages, religions, ethnicities, politics, economics, food systems, and urban development patterns 3. Illustrate the importance of “place” to the cultural identity of individuals and larger populations 4. Differentiate between empirical and theoretical methods of inquiry when evaluating concepts and phenomena 5. Utilize information literacy skills in written and oral communication 6.
