Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 2. Analyze tort law/theories of negligence and tort reform 3. Describe criminal aspects of health care law 4. Examine contract and antitrust issues – including managed health care 5. Analyze corporate liability and liability of health care professionals as it relates to ethics and malpractice 6. Identify patient rights and responsibilities /patient safety and zero harm (JCAHO) 7. Evaluate policy relating to employment law and labor relations in the healthcare industry 8. Apply federal and state reporting requirements related to privacy and security, i.e., disclosure accounting, release of information, breach notification, Office of Civil Rights Required Materials: Technical Requirements: |
