Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Summarize the characteristics of the ICD-10-CM classification system 2. Describe the format of the Tabular List of Diseases and Injuries 3. Explain what the main terms, sub-terms, carryover lines, nonessential modifiers, and eponyms are that are used in ICD-10-CM 4. Explain the format of the Alphabetic Index to Diseases in ICD-10-CM 5. Explain how connecting words are used in the Alphabetic Index 6. Apply the symbols, punctuation, and abbreviations used to code in ICD-10-CM 7. Assign diagnosis codes using the Alphabetic Index and Tabular List Required Materials: Technical Requirements: |
