Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Demonstrate the heightened confidence and self-awareness necessary to perform dramatic literature from the musical theatre 2. Apply the body, voice, observation, concentration, imagination, and script analysis in order to play clear character objectives, actions, dramatic and comedic musical language that is verbally complex and thematically dense 3. Conduct effective character, play, and performance style research for dramatic literature from the musical theatre and apply the research to the embodiment of a character 4. Express a unique and personal artistic aesthetic utilizing informed vocabulary in order to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the acting work of others and reflect on one’s own personal and artistic growth 5. Engage critical thinking, empathy, interpersonal communication skills, and problem-solving skills while embracing uncertainty as an opportunity for growth when creating performances that express complex ideas utilizing musical language Required Materials: Technical Requirements: |
