Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, a student will be able to: 1. Present current best practices, theories and strategies for developing self awareness and healthy behavior change 2. Identify and describe factors that influence optimum physical and psychological health and build resilience, including stress, sleep, nutrition, social support, communication, ecological health and self-awareness 3. Explain the influence of family, community, and environment on personal health behaviors and outcomes 4. Describe the interacting dimensions of environmental, physical, mental, emotional, social, intellectual and occupational health and how they can affect Personal health outcomes 5. Apply scientific reasoning and independent critical thinking to evaluate the validity of evidence and non-evidence based personal health and health promotion information 6.
