Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Analyze a variety of literature in terms of theme, symbolism and cultural contexts 2. Understanding Latinx literature within a global literary and political context 3. Distinguish between connotation and denotation and demonstrate how connotative language shapes major parts of the selected novels and poetry 4.
