Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Perform the steps of the accounting cycle for both service and merchandising companies using computerized accounting software 2. Utilize computerized accounting software to maintain a chart of accounts, customer and vendor lists, item lists, payroll items, financial statements and other exported reports 3. Analyze and record business and payroll transactions via business forms, the general journal, and registers, to meet an organizations’ reporting, tax, and payroll compliance responsibilities 4. Maintain payroll records necessary for accounting information and for legal compliance 5. Perform calculations related to payroll and benefits 6.
