WLD 154 - Wire Drive Welding 2
Associated Term: Fall 2024
Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Explain the performance differences between tubular and solid wire electrodes
2. Make power source adjustments necessary to the effective operation of large and small diameter ferrous gas shielded flux-cored welding processes
3. Identify the type, cause and solution to weld defects typically associated with tubular wire drive processes
4. Prepare materials, outline testing procedures, make welds, prepare specimens, and conduct tests in accordance with standards established by American Welding Society
5. Demonstrate industrial level proficiency when using ferrous flux-cored gas shielded wire processes to weld plate and other structural materials
