Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, a student will be able to: 1. Discuss the behaviors and attitudes that promote eating competence and a positive relationship to food 2. Describe appropriate techniques for feeding infants and children that support eating competence and healthy growth 3. Describe the roles of caregivers and children when following the division of responsibility in feeding 4. Identify the importance of each food group in a nutritionally adequate diet and develop skills to plan balanced meals and snacks that follow food safety principles, are enjoyable, and encourage family meals 5. Explain the importance of a moderate approach when it comes to nutrition and energy balance, recognizing that all foods can fit into a healthful diet Required Materials: Technical Requirements: |
