Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Identify common components of an EHR-PM system used in acute care, community health, public health, and small clinics; and types of EHR applications (e.g., ADT, Lab, Billing/Coding) 2. Describe data flows across health information systems and the implication of regulatory standards 3. Identify root causes of EHR-PM data entry induced error (e.g., usability, workflow interference, system errors) and suggest solutions 4. Assess the strengths and weaknesses of specific solutions to health information system problems 5.
