Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, a student will be able to: 1. Identify the categories of commonly abused psychoactive substances 2. Describe the behavioral, psychological, physical health, and social effects of commonly abused psychoactive substances 3. Incorporate relevant needs of culturally diverse groups, into treatment contexts 4. Describe the most generally accepted and evidence based models prevention and treatment for addiction and other substance-related problems 5.
