Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Convert numbers from binary to decimal and perform arithmetic operations with binary numbers 2. Create simple electronic circuits with basic logic units and analyze the equivalent logical circuits 3. Deconstruct a computer system into its component parts: applications, operating system, and hardware 4. Compare and contrast alternative programming methodologies and languages 5. Decompose problems and develop algorithms to solve them. 6. Describe how programming languages are implemented, including the translation process from high-level to machine-level code 7. Explain communication technologies and how they support computer networks 8. Relate how computer information systems are utilized in different social and business applications. 9. Apply ethical standards to computer and internet use and situations 10.
