Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Interpret basic coding rules and apply t hem when choosing a code for diagnosis and treatment 2. Assign codes to the highest level of specificity 3. Verbalize the benefits for the provider by participating in the VBP ( Value Based Purchasing) Incentive program created by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid 4. Understand coding principles ICD-10 codes change often and the focus of the practice may also change.
