Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: 1. Demonstrate knowledge of the basic elements of music as well as melody, harmony, rhythm, tempo, dynamics, texture, and orchestration. (CLO 1.5) 2. Demonstrate knowledge of major composers, musical styles, and repertoire from the Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque periods. (CLO 2.3, 3.1) 3. Demonstrate knowledge of the outside influences on composers studied in course. (CLO 4.4) 4. Clarify and express personal perspectives with regard to course content.
