Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Communicate more effectively about Science 2. Have an increased ability to make informed decisions about biological issues 3. Have an increased awareness & appreciation of all life on Earth 4. Demonstrate the ability to conduct and to understand scientific inquiry 5. Explain the evolutionary processes that shape the unity and diversity of organisms on Earth and contribute to characteristics and adaptations 6. Understand the principles underlying the classification of organisms and be able to describe the distinguishing features of the major categories of organisms 7. Understand hierarchical levels of biological organization (molecular to biosphere) 8.
