Learning Objectives: Students who successfully complete this course will be able to: 1. Communicate on familiar topics, asking and answering simple questions (some practiced, some original), requesting and providing information, expressing basic needs, asking about and reacting to preferences, feelings and opinions using simple sentences most of the time. (Interpersonal Communication – Novice high) 2. Present basic information about self, friends and close family members and express preferences on familiar and everyday topics of interest using simple sentences most of the time. (Presentational Speaking and writing--Novice high) 3. Identify the topic and some isolated facts and elements from simple sentences in short informational and fictional texts (interpretive Reading--Novice High/Intermediate Low) 4. Understand the main idea, familiar questions, and statements in short conversations. (Interpretive Communication--Novice High) 5.
