HE 275 - Lifetime Health and Fitness
Associated Term: Winter 2022
Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Describe how the foundations of physical activity relate to optimal health. 2. Present safe and realistic guidelines in achieving and maintaining healthy weight and body composition. 3. Recognize the relationship between optimal fitness and overall well-being. 4. Explain how regular physical activity, good nutrition and healthy sleep habits decrease stress and prevent chronic diseases. 5. Explain the interacting dimensions of environmental, physical, mental, emotional, social, intellectual and occupational health and how they can affect lifetime health and fitness outcomes. 6. Utilize independent critical thinking skills when analyzing evidence and non-evidence based fitness lifestyle health information.
