Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course the student should be able to: 1- Apply the concept of time value of money by calculating present and future values. 2- Calculate the value of stocks and bonds. 3- Evaluate the attractiveness of a project using net present value. 4- Measure and analyse the risk of a portfolio of investments. 5- Apply techniques to minimise risk while maximising return. 6- Access how the cost of capital and tax policy change the attractiveness of debt and equity financing. 7- Use computer spreadsheets to meet the objectives above.
