Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course the student should be able to: 1. Describe anatomy and physiology 2. Define homeostasis and the negative-feedback system and explain why they are important 3. Describe directional terms and the three major planes of the human body 4. Define element and atom and the subatomic particles of an atom 5. Describe the structure of a cell membrane 6. List four ways by which substances cross the cell membrane 7. Describe the functions of the integumentary system 8. Identify at least 25 bones of the human body 9. Describe the functions of the muscular system and identify at least 25 muscles of the human body 10. List the divisions of the nervous system and describe the characteristics of each 11.
