COMM 100 - Basic Communications
Associated Term: Winter 2021
Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Demonstrate understanding of basic communication theory in varied contexts 2. Identify and define elements of the communication process, especially elements of perception, listening, language, nonverbal communication, reasoning, and message organization 3. Describe essential skills in listening, verbal and nonverbal communication, interpersonal relationships, effective group functioning, and public speaking 4. Demonstrate understanding of behaviors and attitudes that contribute to effective communication 5. Engage in ethical communication processes that accomplish goals 6. Respond to the needs of diverse audiences and contexts 7. Build and manage relationships
