Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: 1. Demonstrate knowledge of essential elements of jazz performance (CLO 1.5) 2. Demonstrate ability to discuss and critique recorded and “live” jazz performances (CLO 2.1, 2.2, 5.4) 3. Demonstrate knowledge of the main style-periods of jazz history and the contributions of the most important innovators of jazz (CLO 2.3, 3.1, 4.4) 4.
