Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: 1. Demonstrate knowledge of essential elements of jazz performance. 2. Demonstrate ability to discuss and critique recorded and “live” jazz performances. 3. Demonstrate knowledge of the main style-periods of jazz history and the contributions of the most important innovators of jazz. 4.
