CST 201 - Sustainable Building Practices
Associated Term: Winter 2019
Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Demonstrate a basic understanding of Sustainability and Green building. 2. Understand the concepts and best practices associated with the site and land use in the building process. 3. Explore the importance of water quality and conservation both inside and outside the building. 4. Determine the energy and atmospheric impacts of buildings and building products, and how field personnel can contribute to energy performance in the planning and construction process. 5. Explore the role that materials selection and use plays in green building and examines how to identify, select and procure green materials. 6. Explore how green building construction, maintenance and renovation can result in improved indoor environmental quality (IEQ).
