Learning Objectives: Upon course completion, the successful student will: 1. Be able to identify works by major American artists, understand significant art movements and recognize the close interrelationship between history and culture. 2.Learn to make oral presentations with confidence and competence, write clearly and grammatically, and do library and internet research, by writing a research paper and making in-class presentations on the results of their research. 3. Work together in small groups on discussion projects. 4. Develop observational skills by doing a visual analysis project that requires close examination and objective analysis of an art work.
