Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: 1. Recognize important elements of rock performance. 2. Discuss and critique recorded and “live” performance 3. Identify and discuss the main styles of post-1965 rock and their characteristics 4. Identify and discuss the most important innovators of rock and their contributions. 5. Identify and discuss the roles of mass media (especially MTV) in contemporary rock music.
