---|
Associated Term:
Summer 2016
Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the successful student will be able to: 1- Explain the purpose of signal modulation as it pertains to bandwidth and wavelength. 2- Identify band names and frequencies in the radio-frequency spectrum 3- Measure frequency and bandwidth with a spectrum analyzer. 4- Perform signal to noise ratio calculations. 5- Use an oscilloscope to measure the carrier frequency, modulation frequency, modulation index and sideband voltages of an AM (amplitude modulated) waveform. 6- Calculate the carrier frequency, deviation bandwidth and modulation index of an FM (frequency modulation) waveform. 7- Identify and troubleshoot common oscillators. 8- Build a AM, FM and PWM (pulse width modulated) radio transmitter using discreet and integrated components and use circuitry to decode the transmission signals. 9- Configure ZigBee transceivers for digital communications between two or more stations.
