RT 141 - Principles of Respiratory Care Lab
Associated Term: Winter 2016
Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Demonstrate proper use of oxygen cylinders, oxygen analyzers, and gas mixing techniques 2. Distinguish between the different oxygen delivery devices and classify according to their specifications 3. Demonstrate the proper use of gas humidification systems and aerosol generators 4. Safely and correctly deliver aerosolized medications 5. Demonstrate noninvasive pulse oximetry monitoring of patients 6. Demonstrate techniques in lung hyperinflation maneuvers using incentive spirometry and breathing exercises 7. Practice the assembly, operation and monitoring of an IPPB machine 8. Demonstrate administration of the different techniques of bronchial hygiene therapy 9. Demonstrate understanding and the ability provide emergency airway management
