Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will: 1- Develop the ability to use interpretive frameworks to investigate contextual meaning of literature 2- Demonstrate ability to discuss implications of literary texts for personal growth and understanding 3- Understand the variety, rich history, and diverse cultural expressions expressed and embodied in literatures of the Islamic world 4- Understand reasons for differences and similarities among these literatures, and between these literatures and the cultural expressions of the United States 5- Recognize historical and mythological viewpoints and central themes and how these viewpoints establish different world views and value systems 6- Understand ways in which literatures of the Islamic world have influenced world literature and culture, including the literature and culture of the United States Required Materials: Technical Requirements: |
