Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Label his/her own behavior accurately (passive, passive-aggressive, or aggressive). 2. Specify under what conditions his/her own behaviors (social, educational, interpersonal relationships, consumer, employment). 3. Demonstrate the use of the following skills: paraphrasing, perception checking, behavior description, feeling statements, “I” statements, clear and direct purpose statements. 4. Demonstrate the use of relaxation, positive self-talk, and self-coaching. 5. Use the Four-part assertive statement in combination with other communication skills.
