Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: 1. Achieve an understanding of musical styles of the time periods studied through study of major concepts, composers and compositions. 2. Apply stylistic concepts to his/her own performance. 3. Analyze specific formal procedures and compositional techniques. 4. Read instrumental and/or vocal scores 5. Differentiate between quality of a performance and the intrinsic value of a composition. 6.
