Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Use the elements of a standard dictionary, including diacritical markings, definitions, etymology, and parts of speech. 2. Use affixes and roots to unlock the meaning of words. 3. Demonstrate ability to use related words correctly. 4. Demonstrate ability to use synonyms and antonyms appropriately, including the use of the thesaurus. 5.
