ART 151A - Media Graphics
Associated Term: Fall 2014
Learning Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to: 1. Identify the basic elements of two-dimensional design and how they can be used in effective visual communications. 2. Identify the basic rules of to-dimensional composition and demonstrate how they can be used to create balance or tension in visual communications. 3. Identify the basic terminology and measurement systems used in typography and discuss the variables which affect the legibility, readability, and personality of typographic messages. 4. Demonstrate the ability to effectively integrate typographic elements into sound/image communications. 5. Demonstrate the basic design relationships in the interaction of sound, images and movement through the creation of effective multimedia materials. 6. Identify the basic design components of an interactive multimedia environment. 7. Identify the special design constraints and potentials associated with creating multimedia materials for digital on-screen use.
